Chad S. Weldy, M.D., Ph.D.
I am an internal medicine resident physician at Stanford University and a member of the Stanford Translational Investigator Program (TIP) with fellowship training to be in Cardiovascular Medicine. I received my medical doctorate (M.D.) from Duke University School of Medicine. Prior to entering medical school, I received my Ph.D. at the University of Washington where I was trained in cardiovascular biology, pulmonary biology, redox biology, and toxicology. I continued my training in basic science research at the University of Washington, Division of Cardiology, where as a postdoctoral fellow I studied fetal origins of adult cardiovascular disease and heart failure. I believe in the importance of directly translating research at the bench to the patient at the bedside. At Stanford Medicine and as a member of the TIP, I hope to utilize my training in research and cardiovascular biology to become an exceptional clinician and provide outstanding patient care while working to further basic science discoveries and translate these discoveries to clinical application.
